What are the side effects to acupuncture?

There are minimal side effects, and any that are experienced tend to be mild and short-lived:

  • Drowsy / relaxed sensation.
  • Localised bleeding at insertion site / bruising.
  • Increased pain for a few hours following treatment, which quickly settles to give rise to an overall reduction in pain.
